New member joins Lancashire NW Livestock team

MICHELLE Fare has joined the Rural Team at Myerscough College as the new Farmer Groups and Demonstration Events Facilitator

- delivering monitor farm, farmer group and demonstration events in Lancashire and Gt. Manchester with the Livestock Programme.

Working closely with Malcolm and Judith Sanderson, the Lancashire beef and sheep monitor farmers at Lower Highfield Farm near Lancaster, Michelle is currently busy organising the farm’s next monitor farm business group meeting on grassland management and re-seeding, which is pencilled in for late May / June.

In her role as the farm’s facilitator, Michelle will be the new point of contact for all the group work taking place on the farm, replacing James Hadwin.

Michelle joins Agriculture and Rural Development Coordinator Robert Burrow on the Rural Team and together they are working with farmer groups and organising demonstration events. Robert is also the farm facilitator for the Lancashire dairy farm, farmed by the Hartley family at Bashall Eaves.  

The next demo event is planned for Tuesday 8th June at Higher Micklehurst Farm, Burnley. The topic is Improving Grassland on beef and sheep farms.
